Good News on IMBRA Help Your Russian Dating & Marriage Prospects

Honestly, we Russian Women hail the US law on men’s police record disclosure. Just look with our eyes, like you can. In fact, it puts American daters a body ahead ALL other nationals!

We have a proverb, “A Woman Loves With Warranty”… so, with that IMBRA law, we finally give a GREAT SIGH OF RELIEF from that nagging fear of Knowing Nothing about the man behind the (screen, the sea, the table…)

Our fundamental modesty and No-Hurting Attitude just don’t let us ask such things ourselves. Nor is a romantizing man too comfortable about bringing up the “baddie” cold hard spiky topic amid the flowery communication… There are even no established etiquette hints how to approach it!

This is what agencies are for: a neutral intermediary, to take over all the suspicions, bad connotations, and the blame for them, so that to protect a budding couple’s romance against what they are desperately needful, as well as justly obliged and rightful, to know

I think marriage is a life long commitment (sorry players) and both parties should have the right to know of the others. Informed decisions my friends really sort out some of the issues with heart over head.” (Amorcito at GL’s)

Now the best news.

In the Former Soviet Union, with its history of totalitarian repressions (most heavy against the Thinking and the Enterprising), half-nation have been prisoners or, consequently, prisoners’ relatives; and the Police, as well as the Government in general, has always been people’s “adversary” and “oppressor”, rather than “protector” and “partner”.

So there is a category of offenses Absolutely Amnestized by Russian women: TAX evasion & BUSINESSMAKING infringements, up to crimes. NOT cheating on business partners, or poisoning customers, or skinning workers, of course, – but pricking the State’s ass is OK, which is, traditionally, almost admired if done with witty success. (Especially that most persecutions of businessmen here are forged by competitors or fiscals). Ecological infringements are decried in general, but may well go overlooked on a personal level.

We also often tolerate road accidents (for not much of traffic & pedestrian discipline habitual over here) – unless somebody got killed or injured through the driver’s fault.

Some turn a blind eye to other administrative offences, like petty breaches of order.

Other things… sorry, guys. Your brides should know all the rotten spots to make aware decisions.

Possibly it’s too extreme to make one turn inside out before even saying hello…

Possibly one’s Intended could overlook his blemished past, having developed strong feelings for him…

What one has done in that “past”, he has done. It doesn’t mean he would commit something again, but… do you have full credit for your once-divorced American woman? Or for a girl who was once taken to police for alleged prostitution? Wouldn’t you prefer to know it in case it has happened – earlier before you’ve got INVOLVED?

Please agree we don’t deserve deception,

and please spare the time of our fleeting youth, so scarce and therefore precious.

Disputing these points is, well, evil.

Oh, with all my Post-Soviet background, I’m not advocating IMBRA as a law, nor any totalitarian control whereof it’s considered a part. I’m just laughing to the fact that

your officials have unwantedly given you and us a mighty tool to optimistically override its goals of setting barriers to international marriages! So Let’s Build Bridges out of Barriers, as I like to call. ))

I even hear my fellow-women say, “I’ll first look at American men, – with all the imperfections of this nation, there’s an Initial Disclosure Law, I wish there were same safeguards about other countries, – given all those horror stories we face around!”

I agree it’s inequity to have no similar requirements for women. But there are two important factors about it…

There are regulations requiring a clear record for our national to get a foreign passport at all, as well as visas to other countries, – not even for emigration, but for any regular traveling (like a vacation in Bulgaria, a tour to Poland for bulk-shopping-to-resell-for-living, or a mission trip somewhere). And many gentlemen don’t shun doing private background checks, – which is totally understandable, however “cold”, “cynical” and “offensive” it may naturally feel. ;)

Thus I would want to say that men don’t stay bare unaware of our women’s background, yet…

The trouble is that this virgin clear paper, all the more in our corrupt law-enforcement system, is no guarantee against “socialized prostitution”, and against various scams no one in the Authorities may even guess about.

So, enjoy “safe love”, Gentlemen…

Sincerely,

Don’t get too excited about IMBRA. In the United States a person can initiate legal proceedings, relatively painlessly, to “expunge” a criminal record. Expungement does the following: “The petitioner then honestly and legally can answer to a question about his criminal history, with some exceptions, that he has not been convicted of that crime.”
